ARCIPELAGHI

Parma | Reggio Emilia
from June to December 2024

The 2024 edition of Reggio Parma Festival chooses to design five different project lines linked by the common goal of promoting and spreading culture and love for it: an artistic journey that will run throughout the year.

The project stems from the desire of the Reggio Parma Festival and all its partners – the Municipality of Parma, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, Fondazione Teatro Due and Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma – to work together to build a cultural offer able to promote the art and culture of the Reggio Emilia and Parma area in a national and international perspective, allowing it to reach audiences outside the perimeter of those who already attend theaters and live performances.

We present the many projects that liven up our 2024 activity by setting up not just a billboard of proposals, but an ‘archipelago’ of activities centered on what we believe is a crucial aspect of the complex metabolism that regulates both the production and social fruition of culture: the passage of knowledge and craft in the connection between what has already been and what is not yet. A passage that we want to decline, in our case, on the two-way points of departure and arrival of the generations that confront this issue, in the present. We have committed ourselves to a major ideational and productive effort, which will see us collaborate again – according to our associational vocation – in creating opportunities. The opportunity, for member theaters, to “dare and experiment” beyond the boundaries of their peculiarities and to confront each other, allowing ideas – even the boldest ones – to become concrete projects. The opportunity, for member communities, to host important cultural occasions on their territory and draw new artistic vigor from them. The opportunity, for all of us, to open new channels of communication between our institutions and the public, involving interlocutors of international profile and stature.
Luigi Ferrari, President Reggio Parma Festival
