Virginia Woolf
The first professional woman writer in English, occasionally a spy for King Charles II, a political propagandist who lived in the 17th century, a pioneering figure in addressing issues such as female self-determination, individual freedom and colonialism. A true outsider of her time, lyrical and erotic chiseller of an outspoken sexuality, translator of scientific works and innovative writer: L’imperatrice della Luna (The Empress of the Moon) is intended to be a wide-ranging and articulate focus on Astrea, nom de plume of Aphra Behn.
