The rehearsal of L’avventuriero are coming to life. The new production of Fondazione Teatro Due will debut on 12th March at 8.30 pm .
For the first time in Italy, the Ensemble of actresses and actors of Teatro Due, directed by Giacomo Giuntini, will stage Aphra Behn‘s most famous play in the new translation by Luca Scarlini.
Set in mid-seventeenth-century Spanish Naples during the carnival, L’avventuriero is the story of body cravings and mind benders, where the traditional plot based on seduction, love and marriage is reworked in a highly original way, questioning libertine ideology and sexual morality. Pirates, witticisms, masquerades and duels, curated by master-at-arms Renzo Musumeci Greco, frame this masterpiece of Restoration theatre, enriched by Andrea Sorrentino‘s costumes and Luca Bronzo’s lighting.
